Employment
Stamford Central School looks for substitute aides, bus drivers, licensed teacher assistants, maintenance workers and teachers often throughout the year. Applications for these positions need to be submitted for approval by the Board of Education. Applications need to be submitted to the main office at least four weeks prior to a monthly board meeting during the school year. They are only good during a current school calendar year from July through June. It is encouraged that applications be submitted in June for each new calendar year, due to substitute orientation that will take place prior to beginning employment. After applications are approved, applicants will be notified to begin employment when each position is needed throughout the year. 

Rate of pay for Substitutes:

Substitute Teachers - certified - $13.00 per hr. / $91.00 per day

Substitute Teachers - non-certified - $12.00 per hr. / $84.00 per day

Substitute Registered Nurse - $13.00 per hr./$91.00 per day

Support Staff Substitute Pay - $9.70 per hour

Short term substitute teacher pay - $13.50 / $94.50 per day

Library Media Specialist Position

Stamford Central School District is seeking a dynamic School Library Media Specialist to provide leadership and expertise to: • Develop 21st Century Library Services • Collaborate and work closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and administrators • Design and implement lessons and units of instruction, and • Assess student learning and instructional effectiveness. Candidate must have a strong record of integrating technology into instruction, of empowering students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information. The person in this position will be an essential member of our Digital Learning Team - to assist in launching our 1:1 Digital Learning Initiative.
