| Welcome to the Stamford Central School Elementary Guidance Department. We have collected some useful information that will make your year at SCS a smooth one. For some of this information you will be brought to the High School Guidance page; when finished reading the information please hit back to bring you back to the elementary guidance page.
The big buddy program is one designed to help our students by pairing up an adult in the school with your child. Your child's big buddy and will be available to have lunch with him or her, help them with their homework or meet with them in a way that fits into both of their schedules. We will try to meet around the holidays and at the end of the year for a big buddy party. This program will mainly take place during the school day although we will meet as a group for some fun activities after school a couple times a year. If you would like your child to participate in this program, please call me at (607) 652-7301 and ask for Mrs. Sarah Herger. . Banana Splits is a program that provides peer support to those children whose families have experienced changes. Banana Split members are grouped by grade level and should enter on their own initiative with parent permission. Groups take place during the students lunch or recess and will occur once a week for approximately eight weeks. Each grade level's Banana Split group will take place at a different time during the school year. The program is supportive and fun. If you would like your child to participate in this program, please feel free to contact me at 652-7301. |
