Stamford Central School will move to remote learning beginning Monday, November 23 through Wednesday, December 2.  The return to In Person Instruction is anticipated to be Thursday, December 3.
The decision to move to remote learning is due to a positive case of COVID-19 in the transportation department and an abundance of caution.  We are working with the Delaware County Department of Health.
The Delaware County Department of Health will conduct contact tracing, and where it may be necessary, contact individuals.
ALL students will be remote learning, including those who are homebound or attend programs at BOCES or other placements.
Faculty and Staff will report to school November 20th as normal. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be conducted via Zoom as scheduled. The focus of these conferences is your child’s progress.
Additional information will be shared tomorrow with parents regarding student’s personal items or instructional resources which may be needed during remote learning.
We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time.

The Board of Regents (BOR) and the New York State Education Department (NYSED) just posted a School Reopening Framework.  A link to the FRAMEWORK is attached here. A lot of uncertainty remains related to school districts opening this fall and what that will look like. School districts in NYS are waiting to receive information from the Board of Regents and the New York State Department of Education on a “Re-opening Framework and Guidance for Schools”. We expect the guidance to be released the week of July 13th. Please keep in mind, the Governor will make the final decision on opening schools. Our number one priority is to have our school open in a comprehensive manner where teaching and learning can occur safely.  Once we receive the guidance we will be sharing that information with parents and the wider school community.

Dear Parents of the Stamford Central School Class of 2020,

Please be assured that Stamford Central School is developing a variety of plans to hold the Class of 2020 commencement ceremony in light of school building closure.

Our commitment is to honor our seniors in this important milestone by maintaining the traditional ceremony, but adhere to Governor Cuomo’s executive orders regarding social distancing measures.

We await, as you do, clarification from the Governor regarding the extent to which New York will ‘reopen’ and what that means for our graduation ceremony when he issues a statement on May 15.

In the interim, please do not hesitate to contact the Senior Class advisor, Mrs. Patricia ‘Tish’ Voorhees with any questions or concerns you may have.  You may email her at [email protected].

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
